Occupational Therapy

Ju Mei Wei, OTR/LJu Mei (Sue-May) Wei, OTR/L graduated from the University of Illinois as a psychology major, then went on to the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago to receive her Bachelors in Science specializing in Occupational Therapy. She is a registered and licensed occupational therapist in Illinois.

She has worked in various healthcare settings specializing from work hardening and work conditioning programs, pediatric patients, workers compensation injuries, and home health. Ju Mei brings over 20 years of Occupational Therapy experience to our practice.

When asked about her treatment and care methods for her patients she replied "My treatment philosophy is to assist each patient to resume their lives at home and work by acquiring the best manual skills to treat their injury. I believe in treating the whole person not just the injury. Education is also essential to teach the patients on how to take care of themselves and how to prevent further injury."

Occupational Therapy is therapy based on performing the meaningful activities of daily life (self-care skills, recreation, and work) especially to enable or enhance participation in such activities despite impairments or limitations in physical functioning. Occupational therapy is for individuals of all ages-to improve skills that help them perform daily tasks at home and at school, at work and at play. Any splint can be custom fabricated for you on site.

Occupational therapists perform a variety of services for individuals such as rehabilitation therapy after a work injury or accident. Diagnosis’s treated range from carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, to fractures of the upper extremity and rotator cuff injuries.
